FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

AT WHAT LEVEL DOES A HOCKEY PLAYER NEED AN AGENT?

This is a good question and one that often comes up in our discussions with the players’ parents at midget and junior levels.

There is no black and white answer to this question, but a fact remains. Modern hockey has become very structured, and there may come a time when parents feel they need professional guidance to further foster their child’s development as a hockey player.

A good hockey agent is a professional who will use his expertise and knowledge to the benefit of his client in a comprehensive 360º approach. To his professional expertise, he adds a whole network of contacts in aggregated fields of action that will not only be helpful to the player’s athletic development, but that can also facilitate communication between the player’s parents and the coaching staff, the team executives, scouts and even sometimes between the parents and the player himself.

A player agent’s counselling can definitly make decision-making easier and help maximize opportunities for the player.
